Wallpaper Wednesday!

Wallpaper Wednesday!

I have been on the search for a botanical wallpaper for one of my clients.  And not just any type of botanical will do, something that has a bit more interest, a bit more uniqueness.  Well in steps the wonderful Peter Fasano.  I just knew I had found THE one (even though it wasn't a traditional botanical) when I ran across his impressive collection of Arboretum.  The trees, the layout, the colors all are exactly what I needed.  The impressions of the hand sketched trees and accompanying landscape has such an antique and raw feel that it truly gives the finishing touches that I so desired.

Another one of his papers that has me beaming with delight is the Ardley Collection.  The simplicity of pattern and use of colors is light and refreshing and would be a wonderful paper to use as an alternative to the traditional visually heavy pattern of a traditional botanical paper.

Just my thoughts for today.  Enjoy!

Wallpaper Wednesday Resurfaces!

Wallpaper Wednesday finally resurfaces.  Since my last post I have been bustling about with work, family and life in general.  All positive happy things but nonetheless busy to say the least.  I have however run across a great line from Mally Skok Design.  There is a simplicity and ease about this paper that makes me happy and their fabrics are amazing as well.

I just love the coordinating fabric selections that they have.
The pattern is different but the colors and the
essence are cohesive and I love it.

Such a fun clean crisp looking bathroom.

Wallpaper Wednesday

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Wallpaper Wednesday is back on track for 2014.  One of my challenges this year is to continue with curating new wallpaper lines and provide design inspiration to you all.

Starting off this year we are going to visit the many collaborative designs and designers of Hygge & West.  From block print to traditional, whimsical to bold, these collections have a number of options to satisfy us all.

Touching on the whimsical side of us, all this collection of "Daydream" pattern from Julia Rothman has a color scheme available for us all.

What do you think about this whimsical bird motif?

Is 2014 the year of the birds?

'Til next week

Wallpaper Wednesday!

As I was sitting at the office contemplating my post for this weeks Wallpaper Wednesday I was drawing a blank.  I gathered my laptop and inspiration book and ventured out from my office and relocated to the long work table in our studio and had the pleasure to sit along side the talented Caitlin from Caitlin Creer Interiors.  As we were chatting I asked her if she had found any amazing/interesting/whimsical wallpaper lines lately and oh boy did she deliver.

So this installment will be the quirky animal prints and designs that I stumbled upon on Abnormals Anonymous and Beware the Moon websites.  My gears are turning with the endless possibilities of these papers.

Calming colors and simplistic Ostrich design.
Would love to put this in a boys room.

Wild jungle animal romp!

Little boy's nursery for sure!!!!!

Ok so this colorway takes the cake.....I want to pair this with a tangerine chevron pattern fabric and stripes galore!  Oh fun day.....

Til next week.......

Wallpaper Wednesday!

Wallpaper Wednesdays have certainly been MIA lately however, 'tis the season for wonderful crazy busyness!  Hopefully you will be as enamored with this paper as I am.  I recently ran across a fabric line that I have used in the past but has seemed to take a back seat for a while and while I was perusing through their website I ran across their wallpaper collection.  I had no idea..... they carry wallpaper that coordinates with the fabric patterns, which I adore by the way.

Their is something vintage, eclectic and almost "Moorish" feeling about their papers, which is what I am craving these days, and I just can't get enough.

Nothing is crisper and cleaner than a black & white powder room......

Black & white everywhere - with a killer striped sofa!!!!

Here goes with color and pattern.
Why not add layer upon layer, create something unique and different and DON'T be afraid.

How cool is this room?

 Quadrille has not disappointed.
I hope that you enjoy their patterns as much as I do.

Til next week.......

Wallpaper Wednesday!

The weather has turned and so has my desire to stay indoors, light a fire and cozy up with a good book accompanied with any type of food item made with pumpkin and of course a cup of hot chocolate (wishful thinking on my part).  With the changing of the seasons and the brisk air of fall we shift our efforts indoors and hopefully try to create a warm inviting "nesting" place for the upcoming winter blitz.

I of course shift from my typical contemporary roots and likes and transition into a more cozy, comfortable, relaxing atmosphere.  I instinctively gravitate towards the original look of none other than Ralph Lauren.  Ralph's Alpine Loft collection of warm whites and creams are exactly what I would love to use to create my cozy atmosphere.  However we have to be realistic with little ones running around.  I would have to alter the look and create something a little more "kid" friendly, but still this is a home run in my book.

This is my inspiration for this weeks installment of Wallpaper Wednesday!
There is something inviting about cozy thick blankets in
varying shades of neutral.
Loves!

Natural Textures and Patterns are such a hit.

 Til next week!

Wallpaper Wednesday!

I am so loving this new trend of the "faux wood panel" wallpaper.  Yes it has come a long way since I was young.  Growing up my sisters and I shared a bedroom and had the pleasure of waking up each morning to the printed wood plank paneling staring us in the face.  Not.  Still you can find this 70's style gracing many a wall in the older homes throughout the city.  Usually disguising the walls in the dingy, smelly, damp basements of these homes.  I know it must have been a quick fix but really..... Ugh!

Here are some of my new favorites from Andrew Martin.  I just love how they paired this seemingly rustic look with updated furniture and antique furnishings.

Does this not look like the real deal?

This one is completely different and would be dynamite in a cabin!

Maybe in my next project........
