Wallpaper Wednesday!

Oooops didn't quite make it in time but nonetheless here are my picks......

Today I had the pleasure of walking through a project with one of my dear design associates who has been hard at work creating, designing and fulfilling one of the most breathtaking estates that I have ever had the pleasure to step foot in. To say that this house/estate is amazing is an understatement.  Words can not describe the detail and love that has gone into renovating, restoring, rejuvenating and adding to this glorious estate.  This home is an original English Tudor Craftsman (William Morris style more than Frank Lloyd Wright Craftsman) and the details that are emerging are magnificent.  So you are wondering what does this have to do with Wallpaper Wednesday, well here goes.

This home will be adorned with many of the Original William Morris hand blocked wallpaper designs that are dated back to 1873 - 1890.  These papers are undeniably works of art.  Based on nature, most of the papers use a plant or flower motif.  The reproductions are created using the long lost carved pear-wood blocks that were used over 100 years ago, of course this type of loving craftsmanship of the paper comes at an expense.  I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the selected papers in person.  They will be stunning, mark my words.

So in the mean time enjoy this small sampling of some of the offered papers.

 Vine

Daffodil

Pimpernel

The colors are just mouth watering.   Don't you agree?

Til' next week.......
